In 2024, amidst personal turmoil and emotional upheaval, Everything Dies was born—a new atmospheric depressive black metal project by composer and multi-instrumentalist Stefan Lorenz, known in the scene as Nargathrond. Drawing from his parallel career in film scoring, Lorenz weaves cinematic depth into a genre often dominated by raw bleakness, offering something profoundly introspective and emotionally textured. The debut album, Survivalist, released in October 2024, is a visceral response to the sudden end of a long-term relationship that once promised a shared future. What began as a cathartic outlet became an evocative work of art: heavy yet haunting, brutal yet honest. Survivalist is a journey through emotional collapse—and the will to rise from it. But Everything Dies is not about glorifying despair. Unlike many DSBM acts, this project stands for something fiercely defiant: “Life is shit—but instead of ending it or accepting it passively, fight for your dreams.”
At its core, Everything Dies is not only a statement of pain but a call to endure, to rebuild, and to survive. It's black metal shaped by real life, cinematic sensitivity, and an unwavering belief that from the darkest depths, something resilient can emerge.
