Women in Palaeo(Art)

"From vision to impact - women in palaeo Annualy, on February 11th is "International Day of Women and Girls in Science" to raise awareness that shaping a future where science and gender equality advance together has not been reached yet - by far. We are hosting online events with professionals in their field from all over the world to discuss: Where do women* stand at the moment in palaeo? How are they represented? And why not?
For the first session at 9am CET, three remarkable scientists/artists are invited to join:
- Adele Pentland - THE australian pterosaur palaeontologist
- Alyssa Fjeld - Not only bug enthusiast and palaeontologist but also amazing co-host of @fossilsfiction podcast
- Astrid O'Connor - highly renowned blender necromancer and flipper - palaeontologist
For the second session at 6pm CET, we have the following scientists/artists in the panel:
- Natalie Lawrence - explores our relationship with the natural world, looking through multiple lenses - from the biological to the mythic and psychoanalytic
- Tess Gallagher - Artist and paleobiologist based in the US; specializes in Diplodocus skin research, including taphonomy, physiology, and melanosome research
- Amanda Perry - Artist and science communicator, invertebrates first!, from Canada

Hosted on WorkAdventu.re, this 90–120 minute panel discussion includes ongoing Q&A via text chat and 1:1 conversations. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask the questions you’ve always been curious about.
