Rousing live rock performed by a quartet
The Cologne-based quartet “The Bad Goats” combines raw, DIY rock with an attitude that deliberately defies conventional notions of success. Their lineup—featuring two guitars, bass, and drums—delivers an energetic vintage sound that evokes the early Rolling Stones, while the lyrics, with their narrative precision, are reminiscent of folk-inspired song poetry. With a mix of distinctive original compositions and selected cover songs—such as those by Creedence Clearwater Revival or David Bowie—the result is an evening that infuses the tradition of pub rock with a certain ironic self-reflection. The band describes its music as “loud vintage rock”: a deliberately stripped-down approach to rhythm, riffs, and form that allows for intense listening without succumbing to nostalgia. The concert offers the opportunity to experience this approach in an intimate live setting, where sound, attitude, and performance form a distinct, almost raw coherence.
