"How are you?"

Probably one of the most asked — and least answered — question in the world.
We say "fine", "busy", "tired" — and move on. Because most of the time, no one is really there to listen.

Have you ever told someone something that mattered, and watched it disappear into advice, reassurance, or a "you should just…"?
Most of us don't want to be fixed. We want to be heard.

Because we already know the way forward. We just need the space and time to unravel it.

In this 2,5-hour online workshop we'll practice the Art of Empathy — listening to another person without trying to change them, fix them, or make them feel better.
Listening to the core of what matters to them. And you can watch them arrive home in themselves, right in front of you.

We'll explore three layers of empathy:

🌱 Silent presence
Staying with someone without immediately needing to do something.

🪞 Reflecting back
Checking whether we actually understood what the other person is trying to express.

❤️ Feelings & needs
Listening underneath the words, until we get closer to what really matters.

If money would prevent you from joining, please come anyway — there’s a possibility to contribute in another way.

There’ll be a short meditation, live demonstrations, exercises in pairs, and space to reflect together. You'll leave with three layers of listening you can use the very next day — at the kitchen table, in the office, with your partner, your teenager, your colleague. No previous experience needed — just curiosity about humans.

A note on empathy

Empathy is not agreeing.
It’s not positivity, and it’s not a technique for getting people to do what you want.
For me, empathy starts when I become genuinely interested in the human being in front of me — even when I strongly disagree with them.

I believe this is something we need more of right now: less fixing, less fighting, more listening. Listening until we can find the human being — and perhaps even the ally — behind the words.
