⛰️ Hiking Seealpsee – Appenzell ⛰️
Join us for a full-day hike to one of Switzerland's most iconic spots: the Seealpsee alpine lake and the famous Äscher cliff! 🏞️🏔️
We'll do the full 11.2 km scenic loop in Appenzell – up to the spectacular Äscher cliff restaurant for a picnic at the top, then down through Ebenalp to the alpine lake, and back to the train station.
📅 WHEN: Sunday, 10th May 2026
📍 MEETING POINT: Basel SBB Migros Flower shop at 7:15 AM (we'll be back at around 9:00 PM)
💰 COSTS:
- ESNcard Holders: 8 CHF
- Exchange Students without ESNcard: 10 CHF
- Everyone else: 12 CHF
🎒 INCLUDED: Train tickets
🧳 WHAT TO BRING: Packed lunch + snacks, 1.5 L of water, hiking shoes (NOT sneakers), layers (it can get cold up there, 8–12 °C), sunscreen + cap, fully charged phone
⚠️ Difficulty: T3 on the Swiss SAC scale – 11.2 km, 730 m up & down, ~5–6h walking. This is not a stroll – proper fitness + real hiking shoes required. Event might be postponed in case of very bad weather conditions.
