Hike 1 - Schynige Platte

Our call to all Erasmus hikers!

Do you want to admire stars, umbels, and bells blooming in the meadows? Or lose yourself in admiration of the panorama? Then join us on a top swiss trip to Schynige Platte, above Interlaken and its lakes! We’ll climb above 1900 meters with the funicular for a hike that’s perfect for beginners. If the time allows, we will stop by Interlaken for a visit on our way back.

REGISTRATION: Ticket sale opens on Sat. 13th Sept. at 12:00

WHERE: Bern Bahnhof meeting point (next to the big departure screens)

WHEN: Saturday, 20th September 2025. Meeting time is 08:15. We will be back in Bern by 18:30

ESN card:

• With ESN card, no GA: 13 CHF

• With ESN card, with GA: 3 CHF

No ESN card:

• Without ESN card, no GA: 18 CHF

• Without ESN card, with GA: 8 CHF

TICKETS DO NOT INCLUDE: lunch, please bring your own

IMPORTANT INFO: Wear hiking shoes, bring enough water to drink and your lunch. Check the weather on the day of the event and bring rain gear (raincoat and umbrella) if necessary.

ESN Card discount

The ticket options “with ESN card” are available at a special reduced price for holders of the ESN card. Our cards are currently being sold for 15.- CHF on the ticketing page of our Welcome Apéro (https://eventfrog.ch/welcomeaperohs25) and can be picked up on Sept. 16th. You may already purchase a ticket from the category “with ESN card” if you plan to buy the ESN card. It is valid for one year and will give you discounts at future activities as well. So it’s a perfect time to buy it and start enjoying the benefits!

GA

The “Generalabonnement” (GA) by the swiss train company SBB is a monthly or yearly subscription that grants holders unlimited travel on almost all trains. This is not handled by ESN. Please only buy a ticket from the category “with GA” if you own this train subscription from SBB. Halbtax, GA Night and local transportation subscriptions are irrelevant for our events.

Participation in the ESN Bern program takes place at your own risk. The university and ESN Bern accept no liability for accidents that occur during ESN Bern activities. Adequate insurance cover is the responsibility of the participants. Refund policy

Please understand that ESN Bern cannot issue refunds on any tickets sold due to multiple reasons. You are allowed to resell the ticket for the same price to fellow students / ESN members (with the same train reductions). Please note that selling tickets with a profit is forbidden.

Also note that the illness insurance is provided by Eventfrog and ESN has nothing to do with it.
