Trade war: the new global confrontation?

Globalization as we have known it is faltering. What was the foundation of the world economic order for three decades—free trade, open markets, and the unhindered movement of goods and capital—is now being challenged by the very people who imposed it: the Western liberal powers.
With the arrival of Trump, tariffs have returned to center stage. Far from being a simple protectionist retreat, they reveal a deeper reality: that of a global economic war that has been brewing for several years. Sanctions, the extraterritoriality of American law, technological embargoes, and European regulatory barriers are all instruments of a global confrontation that no longer involves traditional weapons.
Today, war is waged through currencies, supply chains, standards, and tariffs.
Are we witnessing a new silent global conflict, where the economy has become the front line?
