Panel discussion: Cocoa as a Bridge and Barrier - The Entwinded Paths of Ghana and Switzerland in Colonialism and Globalization (inclusive in admission)
A valid Schoggifestival admission ticket is always required to take part in Schoggifestival events. Children up to the age of 12 do not pay Schoggifestival admission. Paid events must be booked separately for children and adults.
At the Schoggifestival, our panel discusses the multifaceted connections between Ghana and Switzerland. We explore the historical and current dynamics in the cocoa and gold trade, colonial legacies, and the responsibilities that arise from them. Experts will examine how Ghana's efforts to process more cocoa domestically are influencing the global chocolate industry and how Switzerland acts as a significant trading partner. Additionally, the panel will address the impact of gold mining on Ghana's economy and society and a potential Swiss responsability.
