In «Mama Love» spielt die Kunstfigur Lea Blair Whitcher mit der Absurdität von idealisierten und toxischen Mutterbildern und untersucht ihre eigenen Verstrickungen darin.

Nicht zuletzt vor dem Hintergrund der Abstimmung von 2020 über zwei Wochen Vaterschaftsurlaub sieht sie die unbedingte Notwendigkeit, mit der ungeschönten Schilderung ihrer ersten vierzehn Wochen als Mutter an die Öffentlichkeit zu gehen.
