Did you know that Christianity reached Mongolia long before modern missionaries arrived? Join us for a unique weekend in Geneva that brings together history, culture and the Bible – and tells a story many have never heard.

The Bible Days Geneva are organised by the Mongolian Bible Society in collaboration with the Swiss Bible Society. The event welcomes the Mongolian Christian diaspora communities of the Geneva region, as well as anyone curious about Mongolian history, culture and the world of Bible translation.

Saturday, 25 April – Bible Day

The day opens with traditional Mongolian music and a welcome address by H.E. Ms Gerelmaa Davaasuren, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation. Two lectures will take centre stage: Dr Bayar Garam, head of the Mongolian Bible translation project, will show that Christianity is not a modern Western import to Mongolia – it took root in Central Asia centuries ago. You will also learn about the work of the Swiss Bible Society and its place within the global network of the United Bible Societies (UBS).

Throughout the afternoon, a special exhibition of historical Bibles will be on display in the entrance hall – including the oldest known translation of the Bible into Mongolian, as well as foreign
