You can enter up to six of your own coupons or small advertising spaces. The following setting options are available to you:
You can always see your settings directly on the left-hand side as a preview.
Optionally, you can also use a branding image (format: 62 x 85 mm) for the entire coupon.
In the Cockpit, select the event for which you want to create a coupon. Now go to "Coupons, advertising spaces" under "Tickets & seating plan". Click on "Create new coupon/advertising space".
Now choose a name for your coupon and select a category, e.g. food and drink if it is a drinks coupon.
Now click on "Coupon" under "Type".
Now you can choose whether you want to upload an image for your coupon or just use text.
If you only enter text, an input field will appear in which you can write the text for the coupon.
If you want to use an image, click on the menu item and you can upload an image directly.
It is important that you own the rights to this image and indicate this in the source.
After selecting the image or text, you can decide what colour the coupon should be. For image coupons, the colour bar is discreet; for coupons with text, the colour fills the entire background area. Using different colours is particularly useful if you are offering several coupons.
After choosing the colour, you can enter a link.
This is followed by the discount, which you can select in francs/euros, per cent % or as free text in whole words.
In the next step, you can set the validity period.
This means you specify how long the voucher is valid, whether it only counts for the event or can be redeemed beyond that.
You can define further conditions in the text field. For example, you can specify whether the coupon can only be redeemed by one person.
In the right-hand corner of the coupon area, you can upload a company logo or enter the company name as text.
Next, you can specify whether you want to enter a coupon code. This is useful for online shops, for example. Here you can upload an image (e.g. QR code) or write a text as a code word key.
To save, you must first confirm that you want to create the coupon for a fee.
The cost of a coupon is EUR 0.19 excl. VAT per ticket sold or reserved.
You can then save the coupon and add more.
In the Cockpit, select the event for which you want to use the small advertising space yourself. Now go to "Coupons, advertising spaces" under "Tickets & seating plan". Click on "Create new coupon/advertising space".
Now give the advertising space a name.
Next, select the category.
Then you can choose whether you want to create a Coupn or a "Small advertising space".
You now have the option of uploading an image for the advertising space.
The image must be at least 552x764px in size.
If you have uploaded an image, you must confirm that you own the image rights and state the source.
The preview of the advertising space appears on the left.
To save, you must first confirm that you want to create the small advertising space for a fee. The cost is EUR 0.19 excl. VAT per ticket sold or reserved.
After that you can save.
If you would like to know what the coupons/small advertising spaces on the tickets look like, go to "Tickets".
At the top right you can click on "Preview ticket" to generate a preview of the tickets.
On the example ticket on the right, you can see the ticket itself in the upper part. It contains all the important information about the event and a QR code that can be scanned for admission.
Below this, you will find the coupon from our example above on the left and the small advertising space that we have inserted for the example on the right.
If you want to create coupons that can be redeemed directly at the event, we recommend working with checkpoints. Create a checkpoint for admission control (e.g. "Entry"). This is used for normal entry control. In addition, add another checkpoint per coupon (e.g. "drink discount"). To create a control point >
Assign these checkpoints to all categories so that you can scan each ticket once per checkpoint.
To grant the staff - who sell the discounted product, for example - access to the ticketing system, set up a trusted person as the entry manager so that this person can log in to the entry app, select the coupon checkpoint and connect other staff devices for scanning.
It is also important that you write in the conditions of the voucher that the voucher is only valid on presentation of the ticket (QR code). As both printed and digital tickets (Eventfrog app) have a QR code, the procedure is identical for both variants.
For online shops, we recommend using a code that the online shop operator can programme so that it can only be used once per account. It is usually also possible to set up that the code is no longer valid after XY redemptions. In this case, we recommend adding a corresponding note to the conditions on the coupon (e.g. only while stocks last).
If you want to create a coupon that can be redeemed in a local bookshop, for example, it is unfortunately not possible to prevent someone from redeeming the coupon more than once. In this case, we recommend adding a note to the conditions (e.g. only while stocks last) and instructing the checkout staff to collect the printed coupons and keep a tally for the Coupon app. Once the number has been reached, further coupon redemptions will be rejected.
In general, we recommend only creating coupons that do not lead to a loss but generally increase sales. As a rule, it makes sense to define coupons in such a way that you continue to generate revenue despite the discount and that the highest possible redemption rate is actually desired. You can ensure this by adding an expiry date and carefully considered conditions (e.g. only valid from a value of EUR 100.-).
