Die Waves of Jazz spielen im Kulturzentrum Toweddern Kompositionen aus den 30er bis 50er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts, die heute als Jazzstandards bezeichnet werden. Das Konzert steht unter dem Motto „Let’s Swing Together“.

Fetzige Sätze und ideenreiche Improvisationen zeichnen die Band aus, deren Mitglieder in und um Kiel beheimatet sind. In der Frontlinieder Gruppe stehen Olaf Albers (Tenorsax) und Peter Seegebrecht (Posaune). Rainer Zühlsdorff (Piano), Volker Weber (Kontrabass) und Bob Bruce (Schlagzeug) schaffen eine groovige Basis, die der Band im Zusammenspiel mit den Bläsern einen unverwechselbaren, swingenden Sound verleihen.
