Dilan Balkay is an Istanbul-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and
producer. She began playing the trumpet at the age of nine and has
been actively involved in Turkey’s alternative music scene since 2016,
contributing trumpet and vocals to numerous concert and album projects
by prominent artists. Since 2018, she has been performing with Dolu
Kadehi Ters Tut, accompanying the band with trumpet, keyboards, and
backing vocals.
Since releasing her own music in 2019, Dilan has put out several singles
and collaborations, and drew wider attention with her debut solo album
KUYU, released in 2021. Following the album, she performed at various
venues and festivals across Turkey. She has appeared internationally at
the Jerusalem Jazz Festival in July 2022, the Enjoy Jazz Festival in
Mannheim in October 2023, and performed in London in February 2025.
With her second album Tavşan Uykusu, released in November 2026,
Dilan Balkay further deepened her narrative-driven and genre-crossing
approach. She continues to produce new work and perform live on an
international scale.
