The Beast, Basel’s first ever dedicated comedy club, is proud to showcase how much fantastic comedy talent there is in Switzerland. On stage, Vanessa Lépine is the perfect combination of cute and ruthless. Beyond her charming smile hides a dark sense of humor and she will not shy away from uncomfortable topics that inspire her comedy - like being a woman in her thirties or conversations with her therapist.
Vanessa moved from Montreal to Switzerland 8 years ago. Based in Zurich, she performs and produces shows both in English and French all over Switzerland and runs her own comedy club in Lausanne. She was an opening act for the closing gala of the Montreux Comedy festival 2021.

Ruben Garcia is a New-York–born Dominican comedian based in Switzerland, trying to blend Caribbean/Bronx energy with Swiss efficiency (with mixed results). He’s been featured on SRF’s 10 vor 10 for his unique way of using humor to navigate life in Switzerland, and profiled in 20 Minuten for bringing English New York stand-up culture to Zurich.
Ted Hooijberg is an odd little man, scientifically known as a short king. Hailing from the Oregon Marion county foster care program, Ted was adopted by two straight people who brought him to Europe to live the high life. Now Ted is committed to not getting committed (again) all while perhaps getting a giggle here and there. He collects giggles like tooth fairies do teeth. He has a little bag for them.
